We are always looking for volunteers to help us run the facility and organise events. There are lots of ways you can get involved….

Work bees - join us in the spring and fall to help clean up, refresh, and maintain the grounds. Help us clear undergrowth, fix fencing, and paint rails, amongst other things.

At events - help out at one of our events as dressage scribe, scorer, timer, show secretary, whipper-in, or help to set up/clear away equipment.

Join the board! The SRGEDC has a fantastic board of directors but there is always room for more! Get involved with one of our committees responsible for event planning, organising clinics and fun activities, sponsorship/fundraising, grant writing, facility bookings and management, or communications.

Would you like to get more involved with the SRGEDC?

  1. Become a member - join in with all the fun at the SRGEDC by becoming a member.

  2. Become a friend - don’t ride? No problem! Show your support for the SRGEDC by becoming a non-riding member.

  3. Enter an event - whether you’re a dressage diva or a gymkhana queen, there’s something for everyone at our low-stress, welcoming events!

  4. Spectate at a clinic or competition - you don’t have to ride in order to enjoy our events. Spectators are always welcome so come along to watch the action.

  5. Volunteer - the SRGEDC is run solely by volunteers. Give back to your equestrian community by investing some of your free time in the SRGEDC. Any volunteer time is greatly appreciated - we couldn’t run the facility or host events without volunteer support!

  6. Sponsor an event - put your name, the name of your business, or even the name of your horse next to one of our events or classes by sponsoring it. Contact the SRGEDC if you would like to become a sponsor.

  7. Host an event - do you have an idea for a competition, clinic, or equestrian activity that you’d love to organise but don’t have the facilities? You could run the event at the Summerland Rodeo Grounds under the SRGEDC umbrella. Contact us for more information or to talk through your ideas.
